This year proved to be a very positive experience for us. We discovered we were pregnant with #2 last Christmas season. We were proud to welcome
Ethan Jay to our home exactly 4 weeks early via a successful VBAC on July 11 at 10:03 PM. He weighed 6 lbs 10 oz and was 19 ½ inches long. He has such a sweet spirit about him, is full of smiles and coos, and is a very cuddly boy. He loves to talk and hear his own voice, suck on his fingers, and be tickled. He is 5 1/2 months old to date and is already wearing 12 month clothes. The chub and dimply cheeks keep the kisses coming. We marvel at the love we have for both of our children and the ability for our love to grow in leaps and bounds. Such blessings are these tiny people. 
Olivia is getting to the point where she can actually have a conversation with us. We’ll be celebrating her 2nd birthday on the 29th while we are in Ohio for Christmas. She loves being a big sister. Although she stayed away from him the first week or so, she loves to help mommy now. She is very much into everything and keeps us on our toes. It’s hard to be stern with her sometimes because she is constantly doing or saying something to make us laugh. She also was able to move into her big bed last month and is enjoying her new found freedom… a little too much sometimesJ. Ethan will be moving in with her in January. Linsey is still trudging away at Pampered Chef, which fell by the wayside for most of the year, but has given us a few extra pennies to spend through the year. She has been called to be on the Enrichment Committee and loves to help out wherever she can. She is keeps herself busy with 2 kids underfoot and often feels overwhelmed with the responsibilities of mommy, housewife, good neighbor, sister, friend, daughter, in-law, wife, and business owner all balled into one person. Not so far-fetched, but quite the ride the first time mommy of 2. She takes each day as it comes and is slowly 
getting into the swing of things. Her latest “hobby” is taking care of the family blog, which is mostly a family journal of sorts. It has been a fun way for us to reconnect with old friends and family that she has lost touch with over the years, while keeping family up to date. Ben (BJ) is still working hard on the beat here. He still loves patrol and is now a school resource officer at the Junior High a couple blocks away as well, which is basically his second job. He has a good time doing it, and gets along with most of the kids. With resource and the other overtime he’s used to working, it’s a rare week that he’ll get a day off anymore, but he enjoys his job and looks forward to it every day. Combine that with his calling as the second counselor in the Elders Quorum Presidency, and it hardly seems like he would have time for us, or for himself, but he manages. We feel very fortunate to have him home with us every day. The law enforcement community in this area took a big blow when a neighboring community lost one of their officers in a tragic accident during a high speed chase. His funeral was an experience that we will never forget,
but hope not to experience again. It brought a lot of Linsey’s suppressed fears and both of our emotions bubbling to the surface. Our hearts sincerely go out to his family especially during this holiday season.We are looking forward to this next year and the surprises it will bring.
